Scripture Reading: Mt. 11:25-30 |
‘Come to me, all you who labor and are overburdened, and I will
give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls.
Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’

Meditation: Try to answer as many questions as
possible
1.
Who are the ones whom Jesus is calling to go
to him?
2.
What do we labor everyday for? Why do we get
overburdened sometimes? Why is rest important in
our daily lives? What do we do to find rest?
3.
A yoke is usually placed on two oxen so that
the weight of the labor can be shared by both
animals. When Jesus says, ‘Shoulder my yoke’, what
does he mean?
4.
We pray, “May the souls of our faithful
departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace”.
Why do we need rest for our souls? Where can we
find rest for our souls?
By Heart: Reflect on this in light of your daily
life situation
We remember and pray for our departed brothers and
sisters, that their souls and the souls of the
faithful departed through the mercy of God may rest
in peace. Death is a mystery which can only be
understood fully through the person of Jesus
Christ.
-
Come to me:
We do not need to go to anyone or anything else to
run away from death. We can go to Jesus who has
conquered death when he rose from the dead.
-
Listen to me:
The words of Jesus comforts us when we experience
death. His words are unchanging and we can hold on
to them.
-
Learn from me:
We can learn from Jesus how to live so that we can
learn from Jesus how to die one day. How can we
learn from Jesus how to live?
-
Live in me:
If we know that in death, life is changed, not
ended, how differently would you live your life?
-
Go in my name:
Go and Live. Do not be afraid of living. Do not be
afraid of dying.

you give us new life: a life filled with joy and purpose; a
life only you can give it, for you are the source of life.
Guide us on our pilgrimage of life, that following you
faithfully as your disciples, we may witness boldly to the
